A new online toolbox created by the Dutch Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations shows how climate adaptation can be funded. NextGreen contributed to the information sheets about finance options and constructions and combining policy goals.

The aim of the toolbox is to bring together all the information available on funding climate adaptation and to make this information easier to access.

The #BackBlue Ocean Finance Commitment

Just days ahead of the start of COP26, ORRAA launched the #BackBlue Ocean Finance Commitment. The United Nations-backed Commitment – which is the first of its kind to focus on the Ocean – is designed to incorporate the Ocean in finance and insurance decisions, especially with its importance in the fight against climate change.

Leading financial institutions including AXA, Willis Towers Watson and Palladium are the first to sign up with more expected to add their signatures over the coming weeks.
The initiative is also being backed by the UN Race to Resilience, the World Economic Forum, Friends of Ocean Action, the IUCN and UNEPFI.
